The Fire Service is part of the Community Building administration and consists of eleven fire stations and one rescue service located throughout the municipality. Your workplace will be at the Fire Service in Skellefteå, where all full-time staff are located.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a firefighter, you will join the regular emergency response team after introductory training and participate in rescue operations and drills. A large part of your time will be spent on the operation and maintenance of our vehicles, equipment, and materials. You will also be part of an area of responsibility where you drive environmental monitoring and development and participate in internal/external training activities and information. The tasks may vary depending on your knowledge and personal suitability. Working hours: shift work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has MSB's training in accident prevention, or basic training for emergency personnel on standby (GRIB course 1 and 2) or older equivalent training. You have good communication skills and can communicate in Swedish both orally and in writing. A B and C driving license is required for the job. Good physical condition and health are prerequisites as the work is physically demanding. Job-related tests will be conducted during the recruitment process, and a medical examination will be carried out before any employment. Good water skills/swimming/diving are a requirement.

The personal competencies are as important as the other qualifications. As a person, you are confident, solution-oriented, handle stress, and maintain good judgment even under pressure. You have the ability to meet people well even in challenging situations. In collaboration, you listen to others and have an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You are driven and take responsibility for your work, planning again when necessary to move forward and reach the goal.

Community Building ensures that streets and squares, communities, and residential areas function as well as possible for everyone who lives and works here. The mission includes planning, advising, supervision, and a lot of long-term development issues related to physical planning, streets and parks, transport and services, fire service, chimney sweeping, as well as water and waste.
